dr. Vito Adriaensens is currently a visiting scholar and adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University's School of the Arts Film Department in New York with a [PEGASUS]2 Marie Sktodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Project and the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO). He holds a PhD in Theatre Studies and Intermediality from the University of Antwerp and has taught at the VU University in Amsterdam, and the School of Arts, University College in Ghent. His research focuses on the interaction between film, theatre and fine arts, and he has published and presented widely on silent cinema and aesthetics. He is currently treasurer of Domitor, the international society for the study of early cinema.
