Granville, Un autre Monde.. (Paris, 1844)

The Performing Astronomy Research Society (PARS) proudly presents its first public workshop in Paris, dedicated to historical and experimental explorations into the visual and spatial experience of planetariums from the 19th to the 21st century. The objective of this workshop is to bring together an international, interdisciplinary group of researchers from the human, social, and exact sciences as well as artists, visual technicians and planetarium professionals to investigate the history, present state and future of popular astronomical spectacles.


The workshop will consist of presentations and lectures by international experts and artists such as Frédérique Ait Touati (CNRS/EHESS), David Aubin (UPMC Paris), Charlotte Bigg (CNRS/ Centre Alexandre Koyré), Maaike Bleeker (University of Utrecht), Eric Joris (CREW live art company) Sébastien Soubiran (University of Strasbourg), Kurt Vanhoutte (University of Antwerp) Artemis Willis (University of Chicago) and Nele Wynants (Université Libre de Bruxelles/UAntwerp).
