FLEMISH THEATER AFTER WORLD WAR II

Thursday, 26th of February 2015, 13:30-17:30 | Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp | Desguinlei 25, 2018 Antwerp, room 58 | Entrance is free but your registration is appreciated via email: Karel.pletinck@student.uantwerpen.be

The publication of a new historical overview of the various forms of theater practice in Antwerp after the Second World War – Antwerpen Theaterstad by Toon Brouwers - has prompted the Research Centre for Visual Poetics (University of Antwerp) and The Royal Conservatory for the Arts (Drama) to organize a symposium, which will confront academic research in Flemish theater history with testimonies from actual theater practitioners and critics. The first section of the afternoon will consist of academic presentations by Kurt Vanhoutte (UA), Roel Vande Winkel (KU Leuven), Erwin Jans (AP) and Peter Benoy. After an artistic intervention, we will continue with a round-table discussion with Johan Thielemans, Toon Brouwers, Ingrid Vander Veken, Erwin Jans and Peter Benoy.
